Community Outreach
FRANKLIN FRIENDS
A Project of Flohr's Lutheran Church, UCC Cashtown-McKnightstown Charge & Good News Church of Orrtanna
Franklin Friends is a community service provided to the families in the Cashtown/McKnightstown community. It is our goal to ensure that children who are in food insecure homes have healthy food options for the weekends. In this way, when they return to school, their bellies are full and their minds are ready for learning. We have partnered with Franklin Township Elementary to provide these eligible students a backpack of food at the end of the week. They take this food home and, on Monday, they return the backpack for their next installment of food.

Volunteers teams of 4-6 people are needed to pack the bags each week. The bags will be packed at the end of the week at Flohr's Lutheran Church and then will be delivered to Franklin Township Elementary of Fridays.

Donations of food and/or money are greatly needed to keep this outreach going.

HOMESCHOOL CO-OPS
Flohrs is excited to support homeschool co-ops and other educational classes by offering space for learning, connection, and community. Currently, one homeschool co-op utilizes our building one day a week, and we’re grateful to be part of their journey. We welcome additional co-ops and classes that are looking for a safe, supportive place to gather and grow, and we see this as one more way our church can serve families in our community.
